Yeah, I would get married for reasons other than love as long as the other person and I were on the same page about it (Kind of like Chuck and Larry style). I think marriage is just a piece of paper that can make it possible or easier to get certain benefits. Marriage doesn't prove that a relationship is good or healthy, and it doesn't prove that the people love each other. Marriage wasn't even originally about love to begin with. People always used to marry for money or to combine land. So I don't know why people get so romantic about it now or spend so much money on it. I think everyone should be able to get married because everyone deserves the benefits of marriage. But other than that, I don't think it's a big deal.

i've offered. if i married my boyfriend, he'd get more money benefits, and we'd be able to afford a place of our own and not have to live with roommates. but he says he doesn't want to do it that way. he wants to marry me the right way, with a wedding and a ring, and not done in some civil court.

I'd never marry for convenience. I'm someone who loves to know the truth, and loves to tell the truth. To marry someone I don't actually love is terrifying to me. xD Although I can certainly see why other people would marry for convenience. Especially if they have kids and don't have enough money to take care of them. That would actually probably be the most smartest choice.

I wouldn't marry because it makes it easier. I almost did give in to something like this, but I realized far before the planning that it was a stupid move on my part. I'm not the sort of person that could do it and be happy.

I would prefer to be in love with the person I marry. But I think I would marry someone for benefits such as financial stability. The money would allow me to help my mother live a better life, and afford to have my brother provided for for the rest of his life since he has mental problems.
And it would allow me to do what I've always dreamed, to travel the world without worry of money and costs.

And as long as I could have children of my own and raise them in a good environment, I would certainly do it.
