View topic - What do you think? c:

I just completed this drawing. It took 4 hours and only 3 layers. :D
I showed it to my friends and family they said it was very very nice. :)
Now i'm asking for your opinions~ :)
She's also my new OC, Roxy.

I think the concept is nice, and you character is very cute, but there is no harmony in colour, and there is great lacking in depth. Forest scenes especially have a lot of it. There are lots of great examples of what I mean if you just "forest" into deviant art. You can tell that in all photos, no matter the region, weather, or lighting, there is always great depth to them. Honestly just working on that would improve the picture a whole lot. :')

That girl is so cute (:
I think what Henri! said about the depth and the colours are kind of true!
It seems that the girl is out of place because she's very grey and everything around her is really warm. I don't know, maybe it's just me :C

Well, my tip for you is to have a glance at colour theory~ It actually helps me! (:

I hope I don't sound mean ; A ;

Please accept me back with open arms ; ~ ;

This. I didn't know how to put it. Hahaha.

In twilight especially, especially if it's foggy, light envelopes anything and everything in warmer tones. Hence you could have a totally pale, grey looking fellow look golden.
As the sun furthers down the horizon, only things hit directly by light become golden in high lights, but shadows can actually look extremely blue.
It's good to study the lighting you are trying to achieve so that things don't look out of place, and this way you don't have to sit down and study a ton all at once. You can just learn as your ideas or projects require it. :')

It's very cute! I do agree with what the others have pointed out with the forest, she sticks out like a sore thumb with the background (not to sound rude, it's a cute piece!).
