Below is general information about the site. We will explain certain things to you about the site that we find will be helpful towards you.


There is no spamming on Ernya.

► No triple posting, the only exception to triple posting is if you're setting up a thread.
► Posting bumps isn't allowed. Don't worry, if your page falls off the first page a bump button appears on the bottom of the thread every hour. Just click it and your thread is automatically pushed back up to the top!
► One word posts are spam, you cannot just type "Thanks :)" or anything similar to that. You must always type more when you're posting.
► You cannot talk to yourself on a mule!


Be sure to read the stickies.

► Each forum has its own set of rules, so be sure to read those stickies before you start posting!


There is no tolerance for trolls and harassment.

► If you feel as if you're having a problem with another user, just contact a mod and they will help you fix the issue.
► Try to stay civil on the forums, if you need to talk over drama please do so in PM's.


Do not advertise other web sites here.

► You cannot advertise anywhere on this site, including comments and private messages. Referral links count as advertising.


Off-site trading is not allowed.

► You cannot trade your Ernya gold/items for anything on other sites, nor can you sell it for real money. For example, you cannot trade your 1k Ernya gold for another avatar site's gold.


You cannot have extra characters into your posting format.

► You are only allowed to have one extra character in your post format (example: ♥), any more is against the rules.
► You cannot have hatchable pets or any links to other sites in your posting format.
► You are allowed to use images in your format, just be sure not to go over the size limit. (Flob images should be kept under 200px height, banners or anything else should be kept at under 100px height and 550px width.)


Do not necro threads.

► Necroing is when you bring back old threads. However, old is defined differently for some forums. For any thread, except for the Hangouts, anything that hasn't been posted in for two weeks is considered old. For Hangouts, it's one month.
► Owners of permanent threads are allowed to revive their own threads.


Begging is against the rules here.

► You cannot beg to anyone for items, gold or hearts.
► You cannot beg for anything related to stickers.
► If you need help, just organize a quest thread and/or check out the charities.


Keep your account safe, don't share your information with anyone.

► You take full responsibility for your account's safety. If someone from your family and/or your friends steal items from your account, you will not be refunded for your loss.


Do not talk about bans in the forums.

► Talking about bans in the public forums usually causes drama/rumors, so it's best to keep that kind of talk out of forums where it can ruin others' enjoyment.


You are allowed to have mules.

► There really isn't a limit to how many accounts you can have here however, try to keep only a reasonable number of accounts (ten isn't a reasonable amount).
► You cannot make a mule solely to hold a name.
► You must try to keep your mule(s) active, otherwise they will be deleted without a warning. If you had anything leftover from that account, they will automatically be transfer to your main account.

This forum is to sell graphic designs, profiles, pixel works and other services. You should follow the same guidelines as the Art Shops when selling your work, stay at the PG-13 level and make sure whatever you're selling matches the same quality as your samples. Be sure to credit all work that doesn't belong to you! That includes avatar bases, graphic brushes, etc.

This is where newcomers come to make their introductions threads! You can welcome other newcomers here and make some friends with them. You are not allowed to make welcome threads for mules nor are you allow to spam the same welcome message over and over. That's consider spam and is reportable. Threads will be locked after five days of opening which will give you enough time to get used to the site and will encourage you to post in other areas of the site. This forum is for the community to come and discuss the latest happenings of the site. You can talk about shop updates, storylines, NPC's, events, ernyan lifestyle, etc. All topics must discuss-able context, low context is not allowed here.


► Profile CSS Customization Discussion [x]

You can discuss profile making here. You're allowed to ask questions and give answers about profiles, you can rate profiles, show off your latest creation or give/get free profiles. You are not allowed to ask/request for profiles here nor can you sell them here. To request a profile, use the Art Request subforum. If you wish to sell profiles, use the Miscellaneous Shops forum. Remember, do not use artwork from other artists nor CSS without permission, that is considered art thief. Be sure to always credit properly if you're not using your own brushes/texts sets.

This is where you can have general discussion about any topic you wish, you just have to make sure there is enough context when making a thread. Having a few words then placing "discuss" after it, isn't enough. It has to have some value of discussion.

This is a place where you can come to talk about any issues you may be having in real life. It's not a place where you can make fun or light of someone else's issues. It's a place to help others by giving or receiving advice.

This is where you can pretty much chat about anything, it doesn't have to be about a certain topic or anything, it can be as random and casual as you wish it to be. However, that isn't an open ticket to spamming. You still need to follow all site rules here. You can post a picture of yourself in the Official Post Your Pics sticky, post pictures of your pets in Post Your Picture [Animal Edition] sticky and post youtube videos in the Youtube sticky.

Users can come here together and chat about similar interest. All hangouts topics should follow under the PG-13 guideline, and if you have a hangout that is dedicated to a language other then English, you must make sure you still speak English. You can speak in a different language, as long as you use a proper English translator in the same post, otherwise your thread will be locked or you will be asked to stop.

You can come here to hangout with your other squad members, please remember that squads are not meant for you to act elite with your other members and make feel other users unwelcome. You must keep a friendly atmosphere amongst other Ernyans. You do not have to be a leader to make the hangout.

This is where you go when you're looking for a squad or squad members to join your squad. Be sure to check to see if other people are recruiting before you make a thread to look for one!

Here is where you go if you wish to roleplay. Be considerate to your fellow roleplaying, no hate roleplays and you must keep your roleplaying to a PG-13 level. That means nothing sexual, those type of threads will be removed and you will be warned for your actions. Keep the level of gore to a minimum. Remember, you are only allowed to have one active main thread for your roleplay, on top of that, you're allowed to have three extra threads to keep your roleplay organized. This is the only forum where post decorations are allowed.

► Do I have to enter the confirmation code for every post?


No, the confirmation code is designed to fight spam bots and will only appear for the first 5 posts that you make. After that, you will never have to fill it in on your account again!

► How can I earn gold?


There are many different ways to earn gold. The main way for most people is through posting. You can earn up to 30g per post depending on how much you write. Just remember to respect the rules and no spamming!

Playing games can earn you gold too, up to a cap of 750g per day. You can access the games through the Games tab. If you need help on some of the games, you can check out these helpful guides:

The daily Fortune Marble that appears next to your avatar will give you some gold or a marble item when opened as well.
The Squad feature can earn you extra gold when you post. To learn more about the Squad feature, see the squad-related questions below.
Another way to earn gold is by donating to the site and then selling hearts or donation items in the Exchange forum, or you can sell art in the Art Shops forum here and other wares and services in the Miscellaneous Shops forum here.

► What are hearts for and how can I get them?


When you donate to Ernya, you will receive hearts as a thank you. Your account will be credited with 10 hearts for every dollar that you donate, or more with special packages. Hearts will appear above your gold count in the top right corner of the site. They can be sold and traded to other users.

Hearts can be spent on items in the Donation Shop. Many of these items are available for a limited time only, and you can see the expiration dates by hovering over the item.

► How can I donate for hearts?


You can click on the Donate tab to see all the available donation options. These include Paypal, Ultimate Game Card, snail mail and pay by mobile.

Extra hearts can be obtained with special packages if you donate through Paypal or snail mail. If you are donating through Paypal, remember to click on the special package to receive the deal.
Donations with Ultimate Game Card will gain an extra 1 heart for every dollar that you donate. Ultimate Game Card is available in a number of different countries.

► How do I add someone as a friend?


Go to their profile, and there should be a 'Buddy List' button somewhere on their profile. Click that and a request will be sent. If they accept your friend request, you will be sent a PM stating so and they will appear on your list.

Or, if you know their user name, you can add friends through your Settings. Click the 'Buddy List' tab, and through the 'Add Friends' tab, you can type their user name and add them from there. You can also manage and organize your buddy list and check to see if you have any pending friend requests. You will be sent a PM if you do get any requests, with a link that will redirect you to that page.

► How do I PM someone?


There are a few ways you can PM someone. You can click on your Inbox and go to 'Compose Message', then just be sure to enter the user name.
Or you can go to their profile, and click on the 'Send PM' button.
Or you can click on the Action Menu by hovering under people's avatars, and then choose the 'Send PM' option.

► How do I trade with others?


There are also a few ways to trade with someone. You can just go to your 'Trade' tab, type their user name and hit 'Trade' to start a trade with that person.
Or you can trade with them through their profile with the 'Start Trade' button.
Or you can click on the Action Menu by hovering under people's avatars, and then choose the 'Trade' option.

► How do I know if I have a new trade, PM, or comments?


When you have a new trade or a completed trade, your Trade tab will change color. When you have a new PM, it will do the same - the Inbox tab will change color.
When you get a new comment on your profile, a speech bubble will appear next to your avatar.

► How do I know when announcements from the site are made?


When an official announcement is made, the Home tab will change color.

► What is the Sticker Hall?


Stickers can be obtained by completing achievements related to Ernya. If you fulfill the requirements for a sticker, you need to redeem it at the Sticker Hall, where all stickers are displayed. Earning stickers also gets you sticker points which can be spent at the Sticker Shop here!

► What is a squad?


A squad is a small group that is able to help each other earn gold by posting. The default size for a squad is 3 people, but up to 10 members can make up a squad with Squad Invites that are available in the Donation Shop.

For every post that you make, you earn an extra 1 gold for every online member in your squad, in addition to the gold you get from the post. When you are online, every post that other squad members make will also give you some bonus gold.

Chatting with squad members is simple with the Squad Chat toolbar. Click the '+' icon to expand the bar and begin chatting. This toolbar also allows you to easily chat with friends and see site notifications. A Squad Hangout can be created for your squad as well here.

► How do I join or create a squad?


Click 'Create' in the Squad toolbar to create a new squad with you as the leader. Squads can hold up to 10 people including the leader. You can invite up to two other people for free, and additional Squad Invites can be bought individually or in bulk from the Donation Shop. Each invite is one-time use.
If you would like to join someone else's squad, you can ask the squad leader to invite you to it.

The Squad Search forum here is there to help you find other squad members easily.

► How old is Ernya?


The site officially opened on July 15th, 2009.

▉▉▉▉▉▊▊▋▋► Avatar and Inventory Questions

► How do I create my avatar?


Go to your inventory tab (right between the Shop and Inbox tabs), and on the left side of the same bar where you log in and out of the site there is a 'Body Settings' link. Click that and you can create your avatar there. Or just click here to go there directly. You can change your avatar's default body settings at any time for free!

► Where do I buy items?


You can buy items from the NPCs at their shops through the Shops tab, or you can buy items off other users in the Exchange forum.
If you look at the bottom of any page on Ernya, you will see a blue bar at the bottom that says 'Show Footer'. If you click on it, it will show you the Shop Links. If you're looking for something specific, the description may help you find the right shop.

► Where do I sell items?


You can sell your items back to the Sellback Shop; you can find it under the main Shops page, behind Evan - it's the brown box. However, you do not get much gold back that way. To get more gold from selling items, try the Exchange.

► I can't find an item in the Shops, where can I get it? How much does it cost?


If you cannot find an item you want in the Shops, then you must buy it from other users in the Exchange forum. You can find a guide for prices here. Note that although the prices listed try to be as up-to-date as possible, it should still only be used as a guide.

► Can I preview items in the Shops?


Yes, you can preview items in the shop. When you click on an item, you'll see it on your avatar off to the left side. You can even put multiple items in your shopping cart to preview all of them on your avatar at the same time.

► How do I equip items on my avatar?


Just go to your Inventory, click on the item and there you go. If the item has more poses to it, just click the item, and click the pose you want on. You can take items off one by one or you can click 'Remove All' to take everything off at once.

► Why are there two 'save' methods?


There are two different ways to save your avatar, and both of them save them differently. The 'Save Avatar' is for your avatar you wear around the forums and all that. The 'Save Outfit' is for you to save your avatar to your Avatar Closet. The outfit can be quickly re-worn in your inventory at any time just by clicking it in your Avatar Closet.

► Is there a site where I can make a dream avatar?


Better yet, there is a dream avatar system built right into the site. You can find it in your Inventory. Click on there, and next to 'Body Settings' there is a link, there you go! Or you can simply click here for fast access.

► How can I show my dream avatar?


You have to save the avatar to your computer and upload it to photobucket/tinypic/etc. To save it, you can just right click the avatar and press 'Save Image As..' After it's on your computer, you just upload it to a photo hosting site and there you go!

► How do I arrange items in my inventory?


Simply drag the item you want to its new position in your inventory. If you have multiple inventory pages, you can click the arrow at the bottom to show all your items on the one page. Using the storage box can also be handy to transfer items across different pages in your inventory.

► What's the storage for?


It's for you to store items/gold/hearts that you currently don't want out. You can put an item into the storage simply by dragging the item there. If you want to take an item out, just click on it and it will be placed back into your inventory.
To place gold or hearts into your storage, just type the amount you want to place in, and then click on the heart or gold pile. If you want to take gold or hearts out, just type the amount you want to keep in and hit the heart or gold pile. (Example: If I have 1k gold in the storage, and I want only 300g from in, I would type in '700' and then click the gold pile.)

► What is the 'Drag to Level' box under my avatar for?


The box under your avatar is for leveling items. Leveling items level up with posting, and only if it is placed in the box. To stop leveling your item, simply click the item in the leveling box to return it to your main inventory. There will only be one available slot at first, but the other two can be unlocked by purchasing a Level Expansion Pack, which costs 10 hearts from the Donation Shop. For more information about leveling items, see the second part of this FAQ.

► How do I edit my profile?


You can edit it by going into Settings, the link by your 'Log Out' button.
To edit your profile, after going to the Settings, click the 'Profile' tab, and you'll be able to edit your Profile Settings, CSS, About Me and even change your name.

► Where can I get a profile?


You can buy a profile, use a free one or make your own.
If you want to buy yourself a profile, you can find profile shops located in the Miscellaneous Shops forum here, and you can find free ones in the Profile CSS Customization Discussion forum here.

► Okay, I want to make my own profile. How can I get help for this?


You can first start by checking out the Profile Guide. If you have any questions about making profiles or need some help, it's best to ask all those questions in the Profile CSS Customization Discussion forum here.

► How do I edit my signature?


You can edit it by going into Settings, the link by your 'Log Out' button.
To edit your signature, go to the 'Board preferences', where you can edit your Account Settings, Posting Settings and Global Settings. You can edit your signature through Posting Settings. Remember to keep images in your signature under 500x500 pixels, and under 100,000 bytes.

► How do I change my user name?


You can change your user name by going to your Settings, and under the Profile tab, at the bottom there is a 'Name Change' tab. Click on it and there you go! It costs 500g to change your user name. There is no limit to how many changes you can make, and the price is always set at 500g. Just be sure to follow the rules when changing your user name.

► My About Me, signature and profile comments keep getting cut off! Why is this happening?


Symbols such as "<" cannot be used in these areas, because it is read as html code and anything afterwards is removed for safety reasons. However, if you're trying to make a heart (<3), just add a space between the two symbols and it should work. (Example: < 3)

► How do I add items to my wish list?


You can find your wish list at the bottom of your profile.
If you're trying to add something to your list, just type the name in the bar and a drop list will appear. Click the item you want, and hit 'Add to Wishlist.' That item is now on your list. If you want to take an item off, at the top corner of the item there is a circle X. Click that, and the item is now removed from your list.

► I don't want a wish list on my profile, how do I remove it?


Just go to your Settings and click the Profile tab. Under the Profile Settings tab, at the bottom below the calendar, there is an option to 'Enable Wishlist by default'. Click 'No' and save.

► How do I bookmark threads?


You can add a bookmark by clicking the big star above the thread, and you can also remove it from your bookmarks by pressing the star. You can manage and view all your bookmarks through your Settings.

▉▉▉▉▉▊▊▋▋► Item Questions

► What are commons?


Commons are items that are permanently available in shops.

► If I buy a common, does it come in every color?


No, a single common only comes in one color so make sure that the color you want is selected in the shop preview. If you wish to own a common in many different colors, you will need to buy many of the same item.

► What are marbles and marble items (MIs)?


The Fortune Marble appears next to your avatar each day. You can click it and open it to gain some gold or a marble item (MI) that is exclusive to that marble. Every 6 months, the color of the Fortune Marble changes and a new set of marble items becomes available in it, so you will have plenty of time to collect them!

Note that two marbles per IP address can be collected per day, and only one per account. So if there is a sibling or somebody else on Ernya that has the same IP address as you, remember to share the marbles with them.

► What is a donation item (DI)?


Donation items (DIs) are the monthly items that are available in the donation shop for 20 hearts each. Two new donation items come out the day before the 1st of every month at 10PM EST (7PM PST), and remain available in the donation shop until the end of the month. These items have multiple poses in three default colors. They can also be traded and sold to other people.

► If I buy a donation item, does it come in every color?


Yes, one donation item comes in all three of its default colors. Other colors can also be obtained by using a spell!

► Can I equip multiple poses from the same donation item?


Only one pose per donation item can be used in the same avatar. So if you want to use multiple poses from a DI at the same time, you will need to own multiples of the DI.

► What are coins and coin items (CIs)?


Charm Coins are available in the donation shop for 10 hearts each. These can be opened to randomly receive one of eight items that are exclusive to that coin. The items contained in the coin are called coin items (CIs). Some CIs are more rare to obtain, and others are more common. Like DIs, CIs come in all three default colors and spells can also be used on them.
A new coin comes out on the 14th of every second month at 10PM EST (7PM PST) (that is, it comes out on the 15th of February, April, June, etc), with a set of eight new coin items.

► What is a spell?


A spell can be used to change the color of a DI, CI, leveling item and some limited items. For example, if the three default colors of a DI are red, white and black, and you own an unused purple spell, then you will see an option to use purple under the default colors. Spells are reusable on different items in different avatars, but if you want to use a spell on more than one item in the same avatar, you will need to own one spell for each item you want to change the color of.

Spells are available for one month in the Donation Shop for 20 hearts each, and a new spell color comes out on the 4th of every month at 10PM EST (7PM PST). You can also vote for the color you would like to see for next month's spell here.

► What is a leveling item?


A leveling item starts off at level 1 with only one pose, but it can be leveled up to level 5 by posting in the forums, unlocking one new pose at each level. To reach the final level, 5 leveling stones are also needed, which can be found by posting. One leveling item is released in the Donation Shop on the 9th of each month at 10PM EST (7PM PST), costs 15 hearts, and it remains available in the shop for one month.

To begin leveling, remember to drag the item into a slot in the 'Drag to Level' box on your inventory page. There will only be one available slot at first, but the other two can be unlocked by purchasing a Level Expansion Pack, which costs 10 hearts from the Donation Shop. This means that you can post to level up to three leveling items at a time!

Leveling items can also be sold and traded, and the level and number of posts on it are carried over when traded.

► I got a leveling stone from posting. What do I do with it?


Leveling stones can be found randomly when you post. 5 of these are needed to advance a leveling item to the final level. If you have spare leveling stones that you do not need, you can sell these in the Exchange forum.

► What is a limited item?


A limited item is a one-off item that is available for either gold or hearts in shops for a limited time only, but are not regular monthly or bimonthly items like DIs or CIs.

► What is an event item (EI)?


Event items (EIs) are items that are originally obtained as part of site events. Some examples of events are Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day, Ernya's Anniversary.

► What is event currency?


For some site events, you can earn special currency which can be found by posting or under people's avatars in forums. This currency can be spent on event items in the Event Shop, which opens only during events. Event currency typically vanishes at the end of the event.

► What are sticker points and sticker items (SIs)?


Stickers points are earned by completing achievement stickers, which can be viewed in the Sticker Hall. These points can be spent on items in the Sticker Shop, known as sticker items (SIs). Sticker items are available in the shop for a limited time only, and the expiration dates can be seen by hovering over the item. New sticker items are released irregularly.

► What is a name tag?


Name tags change the style of your username when equipped. Two new name tags are released in the donation shop for 10 hearts on the 19th of each month at 10PM EST (7PM PST), and remain in the shop for one month.

Here is where we will explain the admin, mods, artists and NPCs of the site and what they do. We will give you links about how to contact them if you need to. Please be sure to read this guide before asking them but, if you need help with something to be clarify, be sure to PM them.

► Who are the Admins of the site and what do they handle?


Emy, Prezrok and coder are the admins to the site. Admins are the owner(s) of the site, they handle billing issues, activates of accounts, Term of Service issues on the whole site. They can move, lock and delete any forum. Emy works with pixel art work, artists control and recruitment, items, items suggestions, layering issues, events, moderator control and recruitment and account activation. Prezrok works with graphics, html, css, frameworks, forum design and the overall look of Ernya. coder is the coder of the web site.

► Who are the Global Moderators and what do they handle?


Huntør, Reverie and Elli are the Global Moderators on the site. They handle the Terms of Service issues on the site. They can lock and move threads anywhere, and they can delete posts in any thread.

► Who are the Moderators and what do they handle?


¬___¬, Burntcicle, iWrox and >w< are the Moderators of the site. They can handle Terms of Service issues only in their assigned forums, can lock threads as well as move them out of their assigned forums, and delete Terms of Service offending posts. Or you can visit this forum for a list.

► Who are the artists of the site?


TwoStar, Trinus, zipple, Phansma, viiolaceus, .Julia., Xaitoh and karoii are the artists of the site. The artwork for the NPC's are done by MelloLover.

► Who are the NPCs and what are they?


The NPCs are non-playable characters. They're just the characters of Ernya, they're usually involved in the story of Ernya, and some of them run some shops. First, I'll explain the NPCs of the shop. Chloë runs the donation shop, she sells all the limited items on the site. Tyler runs the 21 Street shop, he sells modern teen gear. Evan runs the Deluxe shop, he sells high end designer clothing. Jude runs the Access' o reez shop, she sells jewelry, belts, hair wear, etc. Madison runs the Shoe Box, she sells footwear of any style. Oliver runs the Sticker Shop, he sells all kinds of items, in which you purchase with sticker points.

Now, I will explain the other NPCs on this site. Juniper Elfward is one of the event NPCs, he comes around during events and usually runs the event shop, Belinda Dreadweep is the reporter of Ernya, she's usually around with Juniper but, sometimes she'll report other happenings going on. Sometimes, she'll run the event shop along side of Juniper. Nayte Coldbane is the witch of Ernya, she'll sometimes appear for certain events. Decayin' Jade Hornigold is a pirate, she isn't from the Islands of Ernya. We're not too sure where she comes from but, she'll randomly appear to the lands of Ernya. Oak Rainbowfly appeared during the 2011 Winter Event, we currently don't know much about him other than he is a zombie. Narween Morganthe is a villain, she comes from Ice Land and has tried taking over the land of Ernya during the second part of the 2011 Winter Event.
