View topic - Thor

I just watched Thor for the very first time last night and while I enjoyed it, I still preferred Captain America over it. I've been preparing myself for when The Avengers get's released next year. I just have to watch The Hulk.

Out of those of who who had watched Thor, what did you think of it? And the new Avengers movie will be based around Thor, Captain America, Iron Man and the Hulk, bringing it later Avengers as more movies are made. Which Avenger did you like more (movie wise)?

I'm lacking the Hulk also (and the first half of Iron Man 1, but hey) x'D

I saw Thor before Captain America and from memory, I enjoyed it quite a lot, too.
I wish there'd been a little less Earth stuff, but I see why it was necessary and it made for some really nice fish out of water shenanigans.

I liked Captain America a lot, too. And I love movies set in that general time,.... well set in non-Germany of that general time, but still.
They treated the whole Nazi issue vaguely enough to not offend me, at least, by not really going onto Hitler and such.
Not a lot of people seemed interested in it here, though. Cinema was almost empty on like the 4th day of it showing,... although then again it was an afternoon and not evening showing I went to.

One thing I'll argue with both is that those wonderful men should keep their shirts off a little longer, haha.

Mhhh on the whole, I say Thor is my favourite in Loki being the best villain out of them all to me. I simply LOVE him. He's gorgeous and I could understand his motivation very well.
Buuuut Captain America gains a lot on it with the time and 'Papa Stark' being excellent and just overall.
I say those two are tied for me.
Now I still like the Iron Man movies, too, but seems Thor and Captain America have more interesting premises, to me.
Haven't seen Hulk yet, so no judgement there.

I was tempted to get Thor on DVD, but I reckon I'll wait for some big Avengers box set.

I haven't watched The Hulk or Captain America yet, but I'm sure I'll be caught up by the time The Avengers comes out, thanks to my husband! I never thought I'd enjoy these comic book-based movies, but they're actually some of my favorites.

I like Iron Man more than Thor, but only because I absolutely love Robert Downey Jr. blush I am looking forward to seeing more of Thor though.

I know how you both feel! The men should just go around half naked... or completely naked. I wouldn't mind. And I never thought I would like comic based movies and I definitely prefer Marvel over DC based things. For years I refused to watch X-Men and my boyfriend comes along and I love them. I never thought I would like Iron Man either. I'll definitely be buying these on DVD :D

I started watching Thor last night but I couldn't finish it cause I had to finish my homework. From what I saw it looked pretty good :)

Questing for 2 Teal Spells at about 6k each.
I really enjoyed Thor. It was a very good movie, easy to follow, and good effects. I've been trying to get my parents to watch it.

It was very good. I just enjoyed Captain America more

See i enjoyed Thor way more then Captain America. At times CAptain America Come off super cheesy, which was annoying. And it felt like it was just rushed to get out and basically be like
"This is who CAptain America is and thats it" I felt they didnt dive into his villain enough. You could pretty much guess who is villian was right off the bat.

With Thor it was more thought out and more "surprising" to people who don't know Thor's background. The effects were GORGEOUS, I loved Asgard. It made perfect sense as to how much Midgard "earth" was shown in the movie, considering he was banished there. I felt they could have shown more of his right hand men but thats okay.

OVer all i Loved Thor over Captain America, and it also didn't help any that Chris Hemsworth was a total Hottie the whole way through [but thats just an extra perk. ^_^]

I really like how Thor turned out I was watching it yesterday with my parents and they loved it (especially my dad lol) , I haven't watched Iron man 1 or 2 but hopefully I will be able to watch them before the avengers movie comes out ><
I also really like Captain America, I definitely want the dvd for that. I don't know I really like how most marvel movies are good the dc comic movies....ehhh there okay...

Questing for r0ckstar hair
I saw it with one of my best dude pals and my girlfriend...I did not care for it...but I wanted to though. D:

I only liked Loki, the Asian dude, and the rainbow bridge...everything else was blah...did not help that I had a bit of headache and that my eye started acting up with the random stinging. My right eye gets dry randomly and blah.

I kind of felt left out of the loop since those two enjoyed it...but oh well.

@Nemui: See that's how I felt about Thor. I also felt like he was there for just a day and already Natalie Portman's character was in love with Thor. Where in Captain America, it took the whole movie for something to even happen between the 2 love interests.

@Sweet_vampire_kitty: I did enjoy Thor but not as much as Captain America. I also agree about the movies based off of DC Comics.

@TillieTrixie: You might enjoy it if you had felt better :( I know some people who don't like certain movies because they're uncomfortable while watching it.

yes i will say you have a valid argument there about the love interest thing. Thor was rushed while Captain Americas was more drawn out. I found his to be too drawn personally. I wasn't satisfied with either love interest story haha XD
