Gideon Astor Falke
Gideon ignored the grin on the other's face, and shrugged.
"More than a lot of people would do normally." He argued, feeling a bit annoyed that Rian hadn't accepted the compliment. Sure..so Rian hadn't done much but blow off steam and attempt something he couldn't do, still he had tried. And he had stayed with Gideon, despite the fact he could have left at any moment and left Gideon to his own devices.
"Oh I'm good."
Now that Gideon's was free of his icy prison he was able to more so appreciate the snow laden kingdom before him. While he had experienced snow once when he was a child, it wasn't nearly the same. This snow glistened and sparkled with iridescence, a far cry from the gross muddy snow he had encountered at a young age. He marveled at the unbroken, unmarred snow that stretched out on either side of him, making him feel as though he were far from any sort of civilization. And then there were the soft indentions from birds' feet, some other sort of small creatures' paws, and hoove prints.
Somewhere nearby were deer, or some sort of hooved creature. He wondered why they hadn't seen any during their trek through the snow and then chuckled to himself a bit. Of course, they were breathing and walking so loudly through the snow drifts that they were probably scaring them all off. He was a bit sad that he was disrupting the creatures but it really couldn't be helped if they wanted to make good time and get to the far off light source.
Gideon followed Rian silently, saving his breath for breathing, knowing if he tried to strike up conversation it would only distract him more than he needed. He couldn't help but wonder if Rian was glad of the silence or if he missed the talking. He'd have to ask him later.
Breathe in, breathe out. Right foot, left foot. Over and over it continued, until Gideon got tired of the rhythm and switched. Left foot, Right foot, Left foot, drag the right, left foot, right foot. His feet were becoming numb. That's what he got for wearing sandals in such cold weather. He shivered and hunched over to try and warm his core temperature. It didn't really help all that much. He really should have thought ahead after the dream Janus had sent him.
He was relieved when the House finally came into view. He covered his half frozen nose and let loose a long hot breathe to warm it up. Some of the escaping warm air caused his glasses to fog up and make the features of the large ornate House to blur in front of him. He really didn't give much care what the House might look like on the outside, all he cared was about the Heat that was on the inside.
"Yes please, Heat would be lovely right about now." Gid said with a shudder. He made his way up the steps and reached out to grab the door handle. That was when he noticed that the door had been left open slightly. He frowned and pushed it open.
"Such a waste of glorious heat," He muttered with a frown as he stepped up to the door. He pulled back when the door was thrown open and a small blonde kid stood in front of him with a giant grin on his face.
Gideon was rather stunned as he realized the kid was Trismegitus. What the heck? Janus was going to have a mere child teach them? Gideon couldn't help but feel a bit weirded out about that, but tried not to show it on his face as he looked the kid over.
"Uh, right. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home." Gideon replied with a slight bow. He had no idea why he did it, he just felt as though it would show the young kid respect..even though he had doubts about him.
The moment he entered the warm House, Gideon sighed with pleasure and basked in the luxurious feeling that swept over him.
"Ahh, wonderful heat!" He moaned in pleasure opening his arms and letting his head fall back slightly in ecstasy. Then with an abrupt snap his head was up, his back straight and he had his arms pulled across his chest with a reddening face as he glanced over the six other people standing around in the room. Crap. How could he have forgotten that he wasn't alone? He turned himself slightly around and glanced at the blonde haired youth with a chagrined expression.
"You wouldn't happen to have any coffee would you? I could use some." Gideon found himself inquiring, he had no idea if anyone else had asked for anything but he imagined they probably had by now.
While he waited for an answer, Gideon glanced around at the other gathered teens and young adults in the room.
