I revamped this whole post because RE6 has officially been confirmed, there is info about it, a logo, as well as a trailer.
The game is coming out THIS November on the 20th. It will have 3 playable stories/campaigns that will crossover at some point in the game.
You'll be able to play as Leon, Chris, and an unnamed mercenary. <-I don't really know who the 3rd person is. Ada will also be involved. Not 100% sure on her involvement but there's supposed to be an unlockable playable mode for her similar to operation Ada probably.
Other characters rumoured to be involved in the game:Ashley Graham, Sherry Birkin, Alex Wesker.
Leon, Chris, and the unnamed character will all have a partner. It's not said who Chris's partner is yet, Leon's partner is a government agent named Helena Harper, and originally the partner of the mercenary was originally thought to be Ashley but it's apparently Sherry.
Judging from the trailer, Leon's story will be more akin to RE4 as well as more of an emphasis on horror and there WILL be real zombies.=O
Chris's story will be closer to RE5 and more action oriented. They've also added in some mechanics like sliding and cover it seems.
And the third story seems to be action focused as well.

My opinion:I am REALLY excited for this game. It seems to have more of an emphasis on horror and i'm excited that zombies are finally back. I think the game looks like it's going to be great and it seems as if they've been working on it since RE5. I was just surprised they kept it quiet until now.
I'm also very excited to see Leon, and i'm interested in the involvement of Sherry Birkin and the possible involvement of Alex Wesker.

I think they played it pretty smart on the keeping it quiet part. I think a games has more hype if you only hear about it a few months before its release.
Also...I think you have less time to get so hyped up that you end up disappointed like some games that you have a few years to get all excited for only to find out that they suck. >.<
I'm just hoping they move a bit quicker compared to previous games. That has truly only been my pet peeve with RE games. They never move fast enough. Grrr!! Oh and the herbs not stacking!!! Ok...so I have two pet peeves. lol

I think they did too. I'm glad they did. It also seems like they've been working on it since RE5.
They also have 3 RE games coming out this year. The hype for 6 might helps sales of the other 2. I want all of them to be honest.@_@
Well I doubt the game will move any faster than RE5. Only difference will be that you'll be able to move and shoot I assume. Which will be nice.
I'm just glad they're bringing back zombies finally. Love the zombies. Seeing as 4 and 5 didn't have zombies and it doesn't seem Revelations will either.

Yeessss! co-op mode! Oh man this game will be so much fun!
Also, my first thougth was damn these character models look good, finally Leon doesn't look so babyfaced! Excited for the horror aspect returning, and I didn't dislike the non-zombie enemies, so I'm glad there is a mix. The mercanary looks like he has a cool story too! Also his melee focus looks like a new fun way to take out enemies for RE.
