You actually want to know about me?
o_____o
Well, my name is Katie but I like people to call me Kit, or Katie, not Kate (or I may kill you)
I want to be a musician, don't we all, or a designer. I don't really know what I want to design though. I like designing clothes, interiors, websites, gardens, lyrics for songs, patterns for tattoos, you name it, I've probably tried to design one.
I'm currently in high school, my last year of compulsory education after which I hope to go on to study music, design and computers until I am eighteen, then we'll see. My parents think it would be great if I went to Cambridge University, but I'm going to look at lots of options and to be honest, I'm just trying to get through the next year at school.
My passion is music. I like all kinds of music. Slipknot, My Chemical Romance, Queen, Hadouken, P!nk, Bob Dylan, Eminem, Oasis, The Feeling ... many others that I can't really recall off the top of my head. My favourite songs include Dead Memories (Slipknot), Stuck In The Middle With You (the original version), Wonderwall (Oasis) and Killer Queen (Queen). I like to write lyrics but I kind of struggle with melodies. I haven't found a partner in crime yet, but I'm on the search in my school, in the college I'll be going to and maybe even here for someone to write the music to my lyrics.
I'm a big ol' fangirl. I obsess over single songs at a time. At the moment, it's I'm Not Okay by MCR. I obsess with one actor at a time. At the moment, however, it's two - Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. So imagine my delight when I discovered Bridget Jones and Love Actually!
I obsess over one author only, though - Enid Blyton. I've grown up with her work and her books hold a large, warm place in my heart. Because I'm so used to her work, and the way she used language, and the era that she wrote in, I sometimes come across as a bit posh, apparently, as I tend to slip into the "jolly good, old chap" way of speaking, despite being a Yorkshire lass.
I get annoyed when my friends use the incorrect grammar, or form of words or miss a letter out of the word they are saying. As you may be aware, those from Yorkshire have a tendency to miss out "t"s and "h"s from words. "It's too hot in here" comes out as "Ih's too 'ot in 'ere" which annoys the heck out of me. I try to speak properly. This in turn becomes annoying to those who I speak to because I can't help but correct their grammar, diction and sometimes even their posture.

Sometimes it's like my bookshelf was my finishing school.
Now, I'm branching out into writing my own novels. I have had poetry and short stories published in collaborative works in the area, but my dream is to write a novel and have it turned into a film, and play a leading part in the film. Selfish, right?
Well, it may seem so, but I fear it may be my only way into showbiz.
; ^ ;
I'm very keen on acting and I do a bit of theatre (musicals mostly) in a local amateur dramatics group. But I feel my calling is in television or films as I find my facial expressions are carefully arranged to be realistic rather than emphatic when I act, and I don't like having to face the audience all the time and making my voice loud enough to reach the back.
By now if you don't find me annoying and a bit of a drama queen, I think you must be delusional. See, I'm nasty too. nasty, selfish, a bit bitchy but I can be fun, I can be kind, I'm very loyal to my friends.
Ah, but so many people hate me, and have done since I was younger than I can remember, that you should forgive me for wanting you to like me. Or maybe I'm really so annoying that you hate me already, having read all of this waffle? Either way, you'll want to spread me on your toast when you get to know me better. Know what I mean? No? You're American then?
(Please note, this joke ... *cough* "joke" *cough* is not supposed to be offensive to those of you from the You-Ess of Ay, I've been brought up to believe Americans don't understand the English sense of humour)
I'm going to sign off now before I get a full-blown mob with pitchforks and blazing torches. If you have any more questions or a prescription for some kind of soothing medication after wading through the rambling prose of this profile, please feel free to contact me. I don't bite.
.... Much ;)
