I liked bits and pieces of both games, but would have preferred my favorites in one game. I like cities, but I need a forest. I want to connect, but there are so many offline or distant, I shouldn't even bother. If I could play through without badges (like so many children in-game..no 5 year old should have control of a lv.60.) it'd be nice. I did love the dragons and grass starter however. :D
i've heard so many of my friends not like gen 5, and i wasn't actually very fond of the generation 4 games either, so i'm not sure if i'm even going to bother with any of the gen 5 games
i probably wouldn't enjoy it as much as i did the previous games so i wouldn't want to waste my money
Just started playing it again after a while. :o) I never beat it when it came out.
It's not bad.
The pokemon designs are ok, though all the starters other than Snivy end up looking ugly as sin and the gears/ice cream pokemon are just odd...
But Scrafty and Carracosta are some of my favourite designs since gen II. Archeops is pretty up there too. :)
People complain about the designs, but I think gen 3 was just as bad. :B
The leveling was weird though, I agree. :/ It feels like you're supposed to catch and use new pokemon for every new gym, as they conveniently placed wild pokemon with a type advantage next to the gym 90% of the time. I didn't like that part of it much tbh lol...
Never actually finished playing it yet, but i have played the White version, except i downloaded a hacked rom instead, a fan-made Pokemon White version, something called Pokemon Volt White. The thing i really liked about this version is that all kinds of pokemon can be acquired without necessary trades and such. and also can evolve without trading. anyway, The pokemon gen 5 game is great to play and a good time waster.
I played Black; the gameplay was pretty much the same as all the other Pokemon, so I didn't mind it as much. I personally found that they put way too much useless small things in it to show off the "new" features of B/W, namely Skyarrow Bridge and its pointlessly long length... just so they could show off the new camera angles.
I also didn't like a lot of the designs for the Pokemon. Not to say that all of them were bad... but when you reach a point when you've gone from the epitome of existence (time, space, knowledge, willpower, emotion, GOD POKEMON), to the other end of the spectrum (trash bags), or when you start running out of animals to use and are instead making Pokemon out of inanimate objects like ice cream, it's a pretty good flag telling you you're at the end.
Overall, it wasn't good or bad; fairly predictable storyline, the glee of beating the snot out of other people's Pokemon. I guess I got desensitized to the nuances of Pokemon after my third game, but it's still enjoyable when it needs to be.
Fred;; Volt White, I do believe, is the original Japanese name for White. Kinda like FireRed and SoulSilver. They just wanted to add in an extra bit to make it sound more awesome.
?
Nah, Volt White and Blaze Black were both rom hacks that made a few changes to the gsmes.
link... I'm considering trying it out. c: I like a challenge.
lol.
Who remembers the rom hack Shiny Gold, before HG/SS came out? :P
Graphics, town-wise, and the slight story-line shift is good.
Some of the new pokemon designs leave some more to be desired... though to be fair, this is the 5th generation and they're bound to run out of ideas sooner or later.
Graphic-wise, I really like it, and the music is also lovely.
I don't know much about the plot since I basically left it for my brothers to finish for me, but I love N's past <:
As for the pokemon... they're OK, LOL. Cute designs, but that's the thing. It's very... Odd, I guess. The Pokemon resemble humans with their designs now, and while I don't really dislike it, I don't really like it either. My brothers hate that about the pokemon, though XD
I like the story line and new characters and the set up of the towns is interesting, but the pokemon get old kind of fast...there's only a couple that I really like, but you can't get them till later on.
But I haven't finished it either, I'm thinking of starting over cause I can't remember what's going on anymore. lol
