Fair enough, i wasn't implying that the OP does that, I just went with the general subject. I'm sorry, I tend to not see the line between whether what I state is appropriate or not, and I am horrible with how I word things.

Im on social security because iam job hunting i get paid $250 a fortnight, my rent is $50 and the rest i get to spend on whatever i like, liek food for myself or clothes etc.
I have no problem with people being on any social security, as long as its for the right reasons, like disability, jobhunting etc. I hate it when people abuse the system and just laze around all day doing nothing. For me i go to jobsearch 2 times a week, im currently going to go off it because someone FINALLY gave me a chance, and i start on the 20th of Feb, so i'll still be on social security until then.
Over here, the system can be abused soo much, we dont have food stamps idk what they are, we just get money, but we cant save up any money in our own bank accounts because they tend to get fishy about it, and begin taking money off you. But here almost anyone can get on it and its really stupid because it fucks up and puts us more in debt. They're trying to crack down on people, and be hard. But all you have to say is basically, you're a junkie and you get $500 in teh bank every week.
Its ridiculous and disgusting. Honestly i have no sympathy what so ever for any junkie and believe if they have an addiction, they're just as qualified as me to get a decent job to pay for their addiction and not make the rest of teh country pay for their addictions.

I have a daughter to support and my husband and I are currently jobless. I've applied tons of places and so has he but we are having no luck. We have actually been treated very nicely though by the people we are working in. I have had some friends make a few snide comments, but who needs them?
If people feel they can look down on me for making sure my family is fed and taken care of in a time of need then that's fine, but I certainly wouldn't look down on them should they ever find themselves in my situation.
Once I am off the state assistance I'd really like to find a way to help other families in need as a way to repay what I have taken.

I understand my best friend is on disability and she can't afford food most of the time, she eats very poorly because most of her 546 dollars a month goes towards her apartments 400 dollar rent, 146 for groceries and transit for the month.
yup....happened to me when I had to get on it. I divorced my husband due to him being unfaithful...and other things....and I had a 4 month old. Jobs were hard to find and day cares wouldn't take a 4 month old.
So I had to get some help. And when ever I went into stores and used a WIC Check (helped with baby food) or used my EBT card...people looked at me like I was just a moocher. I wasn't. Once my son was old enough to go to day care....I went to college got a degree....got a job...and got off welfare. I didn't stay on it for as long as I could. I just needed some help after my divorce.
So I feel really bad when I see ppl getting judged for being on welfare...yes, there are the people who abuse it....but that doesn't mean everyone does.
So....give them a break....some of them are trying but they just need a little boost.
