Yes, I love this idea. It would be so amazing to come across one. I think I would be in utter disbelief if I ever did though XD

In my mind I want to believe they are real, but in reality I feel they are not.

But yeah, the Undine myth is a truly fantasicing one. they take on so many different forms depending on which nationality or region. and for each nationality, they go by different names too.
My favorite type is the selkies though... they have like a hundred of far more intersting stories out of all those mythologies.
Selkie--(also known as silkies or selchies) are creatures found in Faroese, Icelandic, Irish, and Scottish mythology. the top is like that of a human, but the bottom part is like a seal's. apparently they have those seal tails because of this magical belt they have on all the time.. and when they take this belt off their tails magically become human legs, and they're able to take walks alongside the coasts. Sometimes they will even take human lovers and live on land for a while... and the humans wouldn't even know they were a selkie.

It would be cool if they existed, but as long as there's no evidence I'm inclined to disbelieve.
hmm i don't know if i necessarily believe in merfolk but I'd like to believe they do exist. I think something is actually in Loch Ness and maybe I believe Bigfoot could be roaming about so sure why not. Merfolk, or something like them, exist

I think if they were real, they would be something closer to the dark side of creatures. I'd be kinda scared, there are myths in my culture that portray them as bad creatures so yeah... Ironically I loved the Little Mermaid.

To me, merfolks are myths. Like they could be real, but until somebody comes out with proof, I'm gonna have to pass on believing in them.
If they were real, they would probably hate the human race anyways because while we can walk on land and swim in the water, they are stuck in the water and can not come on land.

Sure, I love the idea of merfolk! I absolutely love science, and the fact that there's always something new and amazing to be discovered. Now imagine if something that totally defies science appears in real life! That would be amazing!

If you look back to the writings of The Little Mermaid the original one, it's clear that back in the older days people truly believed in mermaids. Possibly in those days there was a water creature that looked oddly like a human from far away. Or they could have truly existed and are no longer coming to the surface, or they've died out and become extinct.
