you get green chests from just posting, they're random.
if you're given the clues, they lead you to a thread, and on the first page of the thread, there's a chest hidden somewhere. you have to buy the key and open the chest :)

I think the items you get are somewhat random? I got a gold chest and the parrot from it.

Well, I guess everything will be ok. I mean, I am just glad what to look for now. I mean, I was freaking out because I did not know what the chests looked like. Now I know what they look like, I might be able to find them easier.
