I'm giving up the internet,seriously.If SOPA and PIPA passes, what would you do?
I've prepared myself for a post no net world (backed up my photos,updated my computer and all it's apps. Screenshot all profiles,friends,etc. I've gotten all my work ready to tell friends to add my mailing address and if I ever decide to go back to the Nazi regime internet- I'll go to the library.

As much as I don't like Obama it's nice to know he's at least against this. If SOPA passes then I'd probably quite the internet and reserve my computer for Schoolwork and E-mail.
If it passes, I will cry and then probably go to rehab for internet addicts.
I don't know what I'll do with my time anymore, but if it did pass I'd probably get out the house a lot more lmao.
I don't even know how I'd do my course without the internet and the things available online, it's something that I fall back on if I can't locate things in the library. >_<

I'd definitely quit the internet completely. I doubt this will pass though. This could potentially ruin millions of businesses...and lives. A lot of peoples' jobs revolve around the web and technology. If congress censors everything then they're done for.

if they actually succeeded with that i would probably go crazy because i go on the computer everyday no matter what. (youtube,facebook,ernya,etc.) <----- :D (love going on those sites). but i don't want them to succeed :( say no to SOPA

I really doubt that it will be passed to be honest.
It's too ludicrous of an idea to pass it.

I'm gonna use this thread as a dumping ground for my worries about this, I apologize in advance for that.
1. With the amount of people against this, if it would pass, that would prove that the U.S. government is no longer about the people.
2. There are internet geniuses all over the world, who would react. (Hackers and such) SO, if the U.S. government fucks with the internet i am almost positive that those people would find a way to retaliate. This scares me almost as much as the Sopa/pipa itself.
3. I know it's probably stupid on my end, but I'm actually going to wait to see if this passes or not before I buy my laptop. Why spend all that money on it, just to find out a few days later "by the way, we're destroying the internet!"
4. If it passes, I will feel violated, and it will enforce that nobody has any rights to anything.
5. I have watched movies online in the past. For Example, Captain America. Didn't stop me from getting a DVD copy. Same thing with Juno, and lots of my favourite movies I was unsure of i watched online first. I am an avid DVD collector though, I only watched online due to impatience XD "It's 3am store's closed I want to watch that NOW not when the store opens!"

True. Sopa has for now been shut down, but Protect IP is still a threat.
I think more people are scared that this is even happening, rather than the likelihood of it passing.
