View topic - I just can't bring myself to care any more.

So guys, I'm a senior in high school this year, and I've found that I've been having trouble turning in homework.
It's just like...I can't be bothered to do it.
Which is stupid, because my grades still count and I haven't gotten into any colleges yet and I KNOW THAT I NEED GOOD GRADES. I really do. (And there's always my mom to emphasize that point.)
And yet...I just can't seem to be motivated to care enough to do anything about it. My guess is I'm completely burned out. Three and a half years of hard classes and putting in tons of time and effort, sacrificing sleep and a normal social life...
Any suggestions as to what I can do?
I hate seeing myself like this.

Sounds like you might be getting a bit stressed. Senior year can be a pretty stressful time, or at least, it was in my experience. I would suggest making sure you take a little time for yourself each day, even if it is just a few minutes to relax and refocus. As to your homework, that is where determination will help you most, just keep reminding yourself of your goals but don't overdo yourself.

Yeah, I was pretty lame in my senior year of high school. It seemed like all of my past semesters and years of school just beat me up and made me lose my drive...it happens to the best of us.

I did not really care for bringing my grades up by doing extra projects. I made it so yeah.

I suppose you just have to try your best or just "get by" if you are not feeling it anymore.

Maybe talk to someone at school that can help you out or something.

You are almost there though so just keep on trucking....yeah, I suck at motivating but you made it this far.

All I can tell you is to gun up, just do your homework for that half a year and you'll prevent a decade's worth more than likely of working even harder than everyone else at trying to get into a decent school or find a job and make a living.

Words exist because of meaning. Once you've gotten the meaning, you can forget the words. Where can I find a man who has forgotten words so I can talk with him? ~Chuang Tzu

My senior year was really tough like yours and I had the same feeling. Maybe you should drop your hard classes and take normal ones. Do something that makes it easier for you. Also think of the hard work you are going to pay off when prom and all those events come soon!

Hi~ :D Wanna Rp? Leave a comment or Pm me! I have cookies~!

I know the feeling, I did the same thing my senior year and seriously regretted it. In the end it comes down to forcing yourself to do the work, because the only person who can make you do it is you. Try setting up a routine. Homework for 30 minutes, computer for 30 minutes. Make a list of everything you have to get done and work on it little by little like that until it's finished. It's going to suck, but in the end it's what needs to be done. you need to find something that works for you. Like telling yourself you can't have something until this project is done. I did that a lot also. I told myself that if I could get the assignments for this class done I could play on Gaia for two hours. It worked quite well. :) I wish you luck!

I guess you have to decide on a time where you make your homework. And when it's time you just sit down and get it done. That's what works best for me anyway :p
And when you've decided on a time you can spend all of the other time you have on whatever you want to :3
