A real job like what? Stacking boxes at the convenience store? Waiting tables at a dingy restaurant? Or an office job at the hospital? That's pretty much all that's available in my area but everyone is saying that those are better than writing comics.
It's like people don't think about how much work goes into that kind of thing, they see a cartoon and scoff at it because it's a cartoon. It makes me sad.
Man one of the colleges I went to was awful. The art students were horrible to one another. One guy in my class did a really nice oil painting and another student said the hand looked mangled because it was as big as his face. But your hand actually IS as big as your face, typically.
In another class there was a guy who snickered anytime anyone anything positive about other peoples work. His stuff looked like he had literally crapped on the canvas though.
