Hello and welcome to my Event thread. I'm going to try my hand at making a guide to help people out who don't know what to do when it comes to this event. I will detail what you need to do, and what pretty pixels you can collect along the way! So come in, chat, and be sure to keep an eye out for contests and giveaways.

Also be sure to read everything, and follow any rules. We want this to stay as fun as possible!

Hello and welcome to Ernya's Valentine's Day event. As you all know, V-Day is just around the corner, so what better way to spend it on here then by participating in a fun event? The premise to this event is to give hugs or slap those around. Nayte has also been up to her old tricks and is creating potions that turn loving hearts into evil, dark ones, and dead hearts into lively ones.

Your team will determine which type of potion you can find. Either love potions if you are in Chloe's team or hate potions if you are in Evan's team.

As Nayte is usually known to give wonderful rewards for helping her out, it's your job to keep an eye out for these potions. Who knows, they may earn you something really special later on in the event. So keep 'em handy! :D



Q: How do I begin participating in the event?

Just go to the Event Shop to choose which team you want to join. You have your choice between Chloe, and Evan. Choosing Chloe will allow you to hug other members of Ernya who also joined her, and earn Love Potions and Pure Hearts. Choosing Evan gives you the opportunity to slap other members who joined him, and earn Hate Potions and Broken hearts.

Note: You can only select one team to join. Once you've selected, you CANNOT change. It's recommended you use your mule to choose the other team so you can earn the items for that team as well.

Q: How long does this event last?

The announcement for the Lucky Charm Coins also addressed the issue of the event's duration. Since there have been so many questions about the length of the event, this is what Ernya had to say:

The Event will be ending on Thursday 18th 9pm PST (Friday 19th 12am EST). You will not be able to hug/slap anyone anymore at that time. The potions will also stop being released every hour, and you will not be able to find any pure/broken hearts from your posts.
The event shop will close on Sunday 21st 9pm PST (Monday 22nd 12am EST). You will have until then to exchange your slaps/hugs in the Event Shop and to purchase the other items with your love/hate potions and pure/broken hearts.

Q: So what do I do when it comes to this event?

When going into threads, you'll notice a small arrow and bar with either "Hugs" or "Slaps" under a persons avatar, along with a number. What you see depends on which team you join. Joining Chloe allows you to see the number of hugs you've given and received. Joining Evan shows how many slaps that you've given/taken.

Q: Okay, so what's it for?

If you go to the Event Shop, you'll be able to buy the event items for your avatar. The currency used to buy these items are the hugs and slaps you accumulate.

Q: How often can I Hug/Slap people, and how many times can I Hug/Slap the same person?

Also you get a slap/hug for every one you give.

No time limit is needed to wait to slap/hug different people. But a confirmation from Ernya has been made that to slap/hug someone you already hugged/slapped, you have to wait a full 24 hours.

Update: Ernya has made it to where you receive 2 hugs/slaps for every one hug/slap you give.

Q: Why is there a down arrow added for slaps?

The second arrow was added on the second day of this event. So far, the amount of slaps it gives is 2 per, just like the up arrow. As to whether hugs will get another arrow, that remains to be seen.

Q: Can you trade Hugs/Slaps too?

It doesn't appear that we can. Since the hugs/slaps do not appear as a type of currency by your hearts and gold, like with previous event currencies, the hugs/slaps cannot be traded at this time.

Q: How do I find the potions? And What kinds can I get?

The potions will pop up randomly. So far, I've found them under people's avatars, but they may pop up in other places too. Potions are confirmed to be found under people's avatar's only. So you don't have to search the whole page for one. Also, threads made before the event may also contain potions. The potion appearances are not confined to posts made after the event started.

Also, potions can be found ANYWHERE in the forums. Not just the event forum. Browsing any threads in any of the other forums have the potential to also wield a potion. Happy hunting! XD



As to what kinds you can get: You can collect either a Love Potion, or a Hate Potion depending on who you chose to join when visiting the event shop for the first time. Love Potions appear if you are sided with Chloe, and the Hate appear when sided with Evan. The potions also come in 2 colors, so keep an eye out.

Notice from >w<: Potions are restocked once every hour.

Q: What do I do with my potions?

The potions are a currency item you can use to trade into Juniper in the event shop. Love Potion Aqua/Hate Potion Red can be exchanged for equippable items, while the Love Potion Sunset/Hate Potion Blue can be exchanged for the antidotes.

Q: And what are the broken hearts/pure hearts for?

The Broken Hearts and Pure Hearts are used for Nayte's potions. Depending on whose team you're on will determine what kind you get. Evan's team nets you the broken hearts, and Chloe's team nets you the pure hearts. Once you obtain a certain amount, you can turn them in to Nayte, along with Love/Hate antidotes, to buy the items she's offering.

Q: If I'm on the hug team and someone slaps me do I lose a hug and vice versa (hugging a slap teamer would cost them a slap)? Or does it count like it would be from a same team or just not count at all?

Someone from Evan's Team cannot slap you if you're on Chloe's Team. And vice versa. You will not lose any currency as you cannot see the hug/slaps of members of the opposite team.

Q: So How do I earn the Broken/Pure Hearts?

After you make a post, you have the chance to earn a heart for it. It will notify you on the post page just like with previous events.
