View topic - Heart prices?

Can there be some way to regulate the prices of Hearts that people can sell them at? 150g-200g each is more then enough I think but some users are going up to 300g each, which is crazy! I know people say it's a supply and demand thing but come on, they don't need to go that high. If there was one thing on this site that needs regulating it's the Hearts.
My opinion, don't bash me for it.

no thank you - it's a user run economy and I believe it's already been stated awhile ago that the site/admin won't regulate any prices

While I do agree with what you want, I don't think that they can really do anything about it.

It's ridiculous that people are selling hearts for so much, especially after we had the gold sink events which should have made prices go down... But we can't do anything.

All you can hope is that a seller will show up that will sell them cheaper than everyone else, which is something I plan to do once I get a steady job.

Clicking Togepi will send you to a happy place.

I wish this idea was feasible but I just don't think it is. I wish prices wouldn't keep jumping up, but I want it to remain a user-run economy. So really, we can only hope for some kind sellers in the future.

some people are greedy and they paid for their hearts so they are able to determine the price at which they want to sell it, doesn't mean you have to buy them. If no one buys at 300g/ea then I bet they lower their prices. I've seen it happen in the last week. In fact, I saw someone selling for like 190/ea just yesterday.

If people keep paying 300g/ea for them though, they're going to stay at that cost.

This is one thing I like about Gaia, you can't sell their Gaia Cash, at least not easily. If we could just have a set price range (150g-200g) for the Hearts I'd be happy.
And I refuse to buy from the greedy members. I won't help inflate prices as they are too high already for some items. Too high for the short amount of time the site has been running anyway.

The best you can do is just not buy from people that you believe prices are too high.

absolutely not. as for someone who mentioned the gold sink, prices cant really go down if demand is still so high, and hearts are always in high demand. and i also think its unfair to call those who sell for 300g greedy...

gold quest: 228k/500k
pandas quest: 4/??
Well lets put it this way. If you wanted a definitive price on hearts..if you have ever sold heart items back to the sell back store they value at 200 gold.

Other then trying to go off of something like that there is only personal preference on how much you are willing to spend on hearts

You got me curious, Aonani, so I checked in the sale back shop and DIs can be sold back for 400 gold, and CIs go for 200 gold. I did the math to find out how much the system values the full price of each of the items in gold, and then divided how many hearts they cost to find out what one heart would cost with gold according to the system and got 66.6 repeating, so about 67 gold per heart. Which is definitely far less than they go for.

At least, I think I did my math right.

People are just really greedy in the exchange and they just want to get the bang for their buck..if you know what i meen? Its just like if I baught hearts with my hard earning rl cash I would put it to something i think its worth as. If I were to sell them I would value them since I worked in rl for them....And being a user run marketplace is really good considering if admin were to run it this site would be really boring. O3o

Want hearts?Click!
People have any right to value their hearts that they PAID for with real money at whatever they would like.

Just something to keep in mind.

if they did this it would be a site controlled exchange..
people would stop selling hearts and just selling the items because the item price is not controlled by the site.. but why stop with the hearts? if its going to be 190 per heart. make it 1.9k per spell the first month and 3.8k for the di's the first month.

pretty much i think some people will stop donateing if this was implemented.. or they would just buy the items and wait for months for them to go up. because 1.9k and 3.8k is not that hard to get and i could get a set of them easly if i didnt donate.

also there will be less hearts brought into the system... i think if prices go up more people will get an urge to donate and bring more hearts into the system. that might stablise the value of hearts a little.

but when it comes down to it not many people buy hearts to sell.. most just buy the ammount they need for what they want and leave it at that. maybe 20% of all hearts buyers actualy sell hearts for profit. then every active member that dose not donate which is at lest half maybe even more then half of the the active members of this site buy hearts and or items from the exchange.. noo duhh prices will go up and will keep on going up until there is more people who sell hearts for profit.

I decided to put a Time Thief in the sellback shop. Original Price: 20 hearts. Sellback Price: 400 gold.

So the Sellback Shop is work 30% of the original price, correct? [example: Bandage is 590g normally, 177g in the sellback shop].

So that means the Time Thief is valued at 1,320g. That, divided by 20 hearts, is 66g per heart.

Did I mess up my math anywhere in there?

I don't think that proves anything, other than users price the hearts higher than the site values them. But then again, that's their decision and I can't argue against it.

Well, but if the prices go higher they do it so you don't make profit and so they still get to sell them at a reasonable offer and as items and hearts go up all the games and earnings will rise as well.
