has an anime series ever made you sad or depressed because your favorite character died...
it has for me. right now i don't know why i feel this way over an anime. i could really relate to the character and o found out that he didn't want to exist and it made me sad because i finally found a character that had close to the same thoughts and beliefs i had. i ended up crying because he died at the end, but the good part of it is that he spent the rest of the time he had left happy. after watchin the series it made me feel bad the next day and every one in school asked me was i feeling well,or was i alright because i was sad and i was still thinking about him.

All the freakin' time, I cry over almost all good animes, when someone dies or something sad happens T-T

I don't really know why either, sad love movies doesn't touch me the slightest at all... but anime, hits right on the spot

Yes, because every good story, movie, show, manga, anime makes you feel this way. :P Whether it's something minimal or not.

OC Art Request Thread
Draw me artsu?
No. Not really, I can't think of any time that's happened to me with anime then again the only one I remember where someone I liked died was in Death Note when 'L' died and his death was all bad ass so I couldn't really get too depressed over that. Which anime shows are you guys talking about?

I have to admit Nuriko's death in Fushigi Yuugi was depressing, because it was so pointless and unnecessary. Chichiri should have been able to teleport the healer to him and save him.

Yeah it happens...
and not just with anime too

though i usually can't find the same reactions for things irl..

I get a bit teary while watching anime sometimes - Clannad, first few episodes of Bleach lol. And oh, that first episode of Pokemon where Ash is like "Come get me!" to save Pikachu... My brother put it on during dinner, and I had to leave the table for a while so my family wouldn't see my tears. ._.
It doesn't really affect me much after watching though. It's the same with movies.

Oh yeah, constantly. I cry at anime, movies, books… you name it, I cry when a character I like dies. I cried during class after watching a five-minute clip of Departures. I think it's sad when people don't cry over fiction, it's like they're missing out on something.

A few times. But the one that made me sob thrice is Ai Enma. Well sure... she still appears in the third season but...
Her life is just sad.
*huggles Ai Enma*

The fox who longed for grapes, beholds with pain
The tempting clusters were too high to gain;
Grieved in his heart he forced a careless smile,
And cried ,‘They’re sharp and hardly worth my while.’

Yes, all the time, but on a lighter note, you should really go look up http://www.coolfunnyjokes.com
It's hilarious, and the '101 ways to annoy people' has me gasping for air. Kind of off topic, but I started reading it after I began responding, and now I just HAVE to post it in order to get it out of my system, and there's NO WAY that I'm going to look all over the place for something that probably doesn't exist. Number 50-60 are my favs.

50. Decline to be seated at a restaurant, and simply eat their complimentary mints by the cash register.

51. Begin all your sentences with "ooh la la!"

52. ONLY TYPE IN UPPERCASE.

53. only type in lowercase.

54. dont use any punctuation either

55. Buy a large quantity of orange traffic cones and reroute whole streets.

56. Pay for your dinner with pennies.

57. Tie jingle bells to all your clothes.

58. Repeat everything someone says, as a question.

59. Write "X - BURIED TREASURE" in random spots on all of someone's roadmaps.

60. Inform everyone you meet of your personal Kennedy assassination/UFO/ O.J Simpson conspiracy theories.

I always laugh when I read them, and when ever I feel gloomy over a sad anime, I go here and read some jokes in order to get my mood up, works every time for me ^^.

---'Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are.' -Kurt Cobain---
I just watched Avatar again and the scene with uncle Iroh and zuko in the last episode when they hugged and were reunited almost made me cry. Does that series even count as anime or is anime specific to Japan?
