I don't know if it's already covered in a guide somewhere, though I've looked; someone in a thread said she stored her gold and I got as far as inventory before I realized my gold count didn't change. I've clicked 'save avatar' after entering a number on the right side of the page below hearts, but can't tell if it's been stored.
Should I still be able to see my gold count just below my avatar on the header, or did I miss a step?

After you enter it, you hit the gold symbol in the storage and will take away the gold and put that select amount in your storage
You don't even have to refresh your page to see the change
