Yeah, that's a usual problem when something that's been a long running manga's turned into an anime, though a few of my friends said they were pretty happy with it ^^
D: Well besides the awkward first episodes, it gets alot better ^.^

oh well I've only watched the first two episodes on funamation, how many episodes in does it take to get better?
I personally really got into it around Jellal's arc, but I'm...Not sure which # it was...

I read the manga (even though I'm currently behind like 20 chapters) and I saw only the first episode of the anime. I don't mind TOO much how they change certain things, because that tends to happen, but I dislike the voices. I already had idealized voices for them in my head and hearing the actual anime voices weirded me out. D:

exactly! I had always pictured happy being a guy, that really threw me off
Yeeeah, especially with Happy as a girl in the dubs...That really bugs me. Though, I guess it is really common for them to do that with alot of characters...Giving them voice actors that make them sound feminine D:
