. . .Many people
think that Abortion is a horrible thing and pregnant women should never have it...
Others think that it's there choice so they should have it if they feel it necessary

But What I want to know is... What do you think?

I think it should be allowed because it really is the females choice with what she does with her own body. Plus if the mother does not want the child and plans on giving it up...there are already to many children out there without a family. Let abortion happen and adoption be more of a choice :P

It should be allowed. Not every woman who gets pregnant got that way from consensual sex. Making a woman (or a young girl) carry the product of rape/incest is absolutely cruel.

EDIT: And even if it is consensual, what happens when birth control fails? It's not 100% reliable. Not everyone can support a child.

Completely agree with you there. I don't know if I could mental handle the fact that I gave birth to a child I had through rape. And even then you need to think what the childs life would be like.

Never had an abortion but I can tell you that carrying a child for nine months only to give birth to it and watch someone else walk away with it while you sign away all legal rights is one of the shittiest feelings in the world.

I'm against abortion as birth control and ideally, I'd love to go for the preservation of life. However the world's not so black and white as we'd like to think it is.

Honestly all I can say is depends on the situation whether or not I'd support abortion.

I'm not necessarily saying I support abortion. Like you said it depends on the situation. And it depends on the woman considering it. Certain people aren't ment to raise children.

There is a blurry line for me in regards to pro-life and pro-choice. On one hand if a woman's life is at risk, or she is raped I think abortion should be an option to terminate the fetus. A woman should not have to risk her life to give birth nor should she have to carry a child she did not want for nine months before being given the option to offer the child up for adoption.

On the other hand, I don't think abortion should be abused either. As silly as it sounds, and while most abortions clinics recommend a woman should have no more than three abortions,I think a nation wide cap should be enforced. It is harmful to a woman's body and if she's going to use it as a damaging form of birth control, she should take it one step further and have her ovarian tubes tied (as this can be reversed if she chooses to have children in the future).

I don't like the idea of abortion unless it's a life/death situation but I'm also prochoice. People are still going to find another way to abort the fetus whether it ends up outlawed or not.

I've never been able to hang my hat with either the pro life or pro choice groups. Both have things I don't like. I can't say no one should ever get it, even so I'm definitely in favor of preserving life if at all possible...there's the whole right to survival and the quality of life factor to think about.

I can't say pro-life because there are cases where I feel it's a legitimate option and I can't go with pro-choice advocates because when ever someone screams "I'm a woman and I can do what ever the hell I want with my body so fuck you!" something in me cringes. I've seen women use this as a power play and that makes me sick. This is something very serious that has consequences. Yes...there are consequences, social and physical, to having an abortion it's not just about having a right you can wave under someone's nose, it does hurt the body and in some cases women have psychological issues as a result of guilt. It's not something anyone should should take lightly and it should be the very last resort and not a form of birth control.

But you can't deny woman A from getting an abortion just because woman B is doing it to prove to her husband/boyfriend that she can do what she wants and his feelings don't count for squat. It's an all or nothing deal, everyone gets to have it or no one does and I have to say that it's better that it be a legal option available to everyone.

I believe in the right to choose. Your body, your decision.

What I find ironic is that many who are "pro-life" are also pro-death penalty XD What happened to that pro-life stance? "Every life is precious." Well, apparently not lmao

Oh, and being pro-choice doesn't mean one is not pro-life. Life is dandy and it's not a pleasant thing to have an abortion. It's very hard decision and wreaks havoc on the body mentally and physically.

OK, but let's assume you're a man and that your girlfriend were pregnant and she didn't want to keep the child, she wanted to abort it. What then? What would be your opinion given that situation.

From a simple perspective without going into the greys (which do exist), I support abortion if there is very careful consideration behind it, counseling is done, current circumstances are unfavourable (mentally, emotionally and financially unprepared) and proactive preventive measure were taken (say birth control failed). And I support it a lot in the case of rape and endangerment of the life of the mother.

I don't support abortion as a means of birth control and/or serial abortionists who simply don't care.

I think you have a choice to your business and your body, but when it comes to stupid or disregard of life, it's hard to just sit and let it go.

Though I've seen people who were not in the right state decide to have a child and it turned out for the best, and those who said 'hey I'll just abort' have reality really hit them hard, and regardless of whether they choose to or not, it leaves a lasting impression on them, and they're not likely to abuse it.

Maybe you should have an amount of abortions that you could use (unless it's because you're forced by someone to have sex) so people wouldn't misuse their right to have them ._.
