I'm on one now because I want to fit into my gorgeous vintage clothes.
All I'm doing is watching my calories. I researched what the minimum healthy calories per day was and then I track what I eat so I don't go too much over that each day. I still try to balance my choices between the food groups and stuff, and I still get treats - I just have to have less of what I chose to eat.
I think there's lots of reasons to work on maintaining a healthy weight and as someone who has to read food labels for allergens anyways, I think a general awareness of the content and nutritional value of our food is a good thing too.
