View topic - Cruel, Sick Person....
Okay, so two weeks ago this person under the alias "Catherine" IMed me on yahoo. I saw it had a name I didn't know and wasn't connected, but I figured it was one of my sister's old friends and she had a different name. And it went on and thereon, suggesting I go to a link and get this "free, limited edition macbook" thing, and yeah. Didn't hear from her again (and I obviously didn't do as she said.)
Well, today I just got another IM. Same deal, person saying their name was Catherine and all.
Big difference? It was the email of my best friend, who died two years ago in a car wreck.
I seriously feel like I'm going to vomit, cry, or a combination of both. You have to be sick enough to hack someones email to send computer or credit-destroying bugged links to other people....even when you don't know the connection to the person on the other side of the screen....

They hack without discretion. They weren't targeting "dead people", I assure you of that, and it certainly wasn't a personal gesture.

Well all i can say is, knowing hackers they dont usually know who the person is. Unless they're targeting that person for some reason and in this case highly doubtful.

That is quite perverse. Honestly, I dont even comprehend why people hack accounts to spam. Those people serious have tooo much time to spare.

Honestly, I wouldn't get emotional over it. Bots take over accounts that haven't been used in years. They've done it to people I used to talk to. No one was targeting you or trying to take you down or anything else like that.

(overall) I know it wasn't an intended attack on me (though if I log on again and I get another IM from "Catherine" I might just go mad. Ultimately, even if it were just a friend I knew and they got hacked I'd be pissed beyond all belief.
