Well, welcome to Ernya, Chreon! It's pretty addictive, watch out. :3
There's guides for just about everything you need and a built-in dream avatar creator so you can really get a feel for items and price ranges and things, which is what hooked me when I first signed up. Also, the people are great here, and while some of the forums move pretty slowly, the BS usually has more than a few chatters active, so if you like talking to people that's the place to be. There's a Hangouts forum as well, chock-full of conversation, but it moves a little slower depending on the thread.

Ah yes. I have been to TinierMe but I had a different username on it so if you're thinking what I think you are, then I'm not the Chreon you met there.

Ah yes. It is. People have been treating me rather well since i joined and it's pretty much encouraging for new users. I do get ignored every now and then but that's a norm in all avatar sites, I guess.
And I haven't really frequented the Babblesphere. I normally prefer hangouts, after all. But I have checked it out every now and then.

Likewise. I really do love the art on the Winter header. The avatars look good too. I do remember not joining because it seemed to kiddy at first though but apparently most people here are pretty mature so I like it quite nicely :)
And I have checked out the event. Been participating in it since yesterday.

I like the art on this site in general. Actually, I probably would have joined Ernya early on if the current header was also the header being used before. It's just that the site seemed a bit too kiddy back then when I first saw it.
But apparently, looks can be deceiving because as you've said, the site does indeed have a mature bunch of people as members

Oh yeah, I remember the very first banner we had and it didn't look all too appealing, I originally joined because I fell in love with the avatars so fast; I wasn't too worried about the header/theme of the site since everything was clear and readable even if the header was a tad bit boring xD
Are you speaking of the really plain header they had or the one with the clouds/dragon etc on them? :o
