You don't have to spend money. You can post for gold, and then start collecting items. DIs, CIs, etc., not commons. I bought my Mystic Ribbon for 35k about a year ago and now I see them going for 65k. If I sold now, I could make a huge profit. It's called inflation.

It's really not hard to make gold. Posting a bunch gets me about 2k a day, and I haven't spent any IRL money yet but I'm already collecting uncommon items to resell.
There are a few ways. You can post, sell art of some sort, or sell hearts. It just depends on the route that you want to go.
