Hello and welcome to Adopt A Newbie. You may be wondering what the concept of this thread is, well, let me explain. In this thread Newbies may come to get 'adopted' by older/more experienced users. I often find that Newbies are confused and left to learn a majority of things on their own. This thread's purpose is to help Newbies understand Ernya better and to help them integrate in to the community more easily ( often Newbies are too scared to post elsewhere because they do not knew many users ).

Newbies who become a part of this thread will receive a Newbie Package. The Newbie Package includes clothes and some gold to help them start off ( Newbies may only receive one Newbie Package ). Any questions that they desire to ask will be answered. The whole point of this thread is to help Newbies. All donations will go to the thread's funds, the funds will be used for contest prizes and Newbie Packages. If you have any more questions about the thread feel free to PM me or any of the other Moderators. Someone will always be on to help.

These are the Thread Moderators of Adopt A Newbie. At least one of them will be online to assist visitors. Please respect them and please be patient with responses. If you have not received a response you are not being ignored. No one will ever be ignored. Please refrain from PMing any Thread Moderators, unless it is absolutely necessary.

  Newbies must now be at least a week old to receive a Newbie Pacage. The reason for this is very simple. I'm tired of donating to Newbies who I never end up seeing again. Not only in this thread but anywhere on Ernya. I'm talking about people who sign up, I donate, then they never come on again or are away for months. I'm looking to help people who will be active members on Ernya. I rather donate to someone who is going to use the site ( maybe not frequently ) rather then to someone who is never going to come on. Then I've kinda... wasted gold and items in a sense. My apologies.

Where are the rules of Ernya located?

They are located here. It is important for all users who register to have a good understanding of the rules. This will prevent you from getting in trouble.

How do I create an Avatar?

You click on Inventory, once you are there you click on Body Settings. It will lead you to a page where you can select the base, hair, eyes, mouth and eyebrows of your avatar.

How do I save an Avatar?

You click on Save Avatar located under your Avatar.

How do I create a Dream Avatar?

You click on Inventory, once you are there you click on Dream Avatar. It is right next to your Body Settings. There you can create an avatar that you want.

How do I save a Dream Avatar?

You click on Save Avatar located under the Avatar that you have created.

How do I earn Gold?

You can post on Ernya, it is one of the fastest and easiest ways to make Gold. You can also earn Gold by playing Games. There are also miscellaneous ways to earn Gold.

How do I earn Hearts?

You can not earn Hearts, you Donate to Ernya in order to obtain Hearts. If you do not wish to Donate then you can go to The Exchange to purchase Hearts from users selling them.

How do I Donate to Ernya?

You click on Donate which is located between Forum and Shops. There you have the options of paying by mail, Paypal or with your mobile phone.

What is the Exchange?

The Exchange is where you can go to sell your items. The Exchange is located under Business Corner.

Where do I go to buy items?

In The Exchange is a sub-forum called The Buying Hut. You can go there to create a thread to buy the items that you want.

I am not familiar with prices, what do I do?

You can visit the Price Guide.

Where is the Price Guide?

How do I Trade?

You click on Trade which is located between Games and Forum. You enter a user's name in to the box then click Trade. You can also start a trade with a user by clicking the trade option under their Avatar in threads or on their Profiles.

How do I send Messages?

You click on Inbox, it is the last option. It is next to Inventory and your Avatar. You can also send a Message with a user by clicking the Message option under their Avatar in threads or on their Profiles.

What is a PM?

A Private Message. It is a Message that is between you and another user only.


What is a Quest?

A quest is when you decide to save up to buy an item that you currently want.

Where do I go to create a Quest thread?

You go to the Quests and Chartities forum located under Business Corner. You can set up your quest thread there, there are plenty of users willing to chat with you.

Where do I go to visit a Charity?

You go to Quests and Charities located under the Business Corner. Then go to the sub-forum callled Charities.

Where do I go to create a Charity?

You go to Quests and Charities located under the Business Corner. Then go to the sub-forum callled Charities.

Where do I go to Role Play?

You go to the RPG Forum located under Entertainment, there you can find the sub-forums called RP Search and Private Role Playing. In the RP Search you can make a thread to search for a role play partner. If you wish to role play with only one person you role play in the Private Role Playing forum. If you want to role play with more than one person, you remain in the RPG Forum.

What is Pure?

Pure is another name for Gold.

What are Commons?

Commons are the items in the stores that never leave the stores.

What are DIs?

DIs are Donation Items. You can purchase them with Hearts or with Gold by finding a seller in the Exchange. Every month there are two new Donation Items.

What are CIs?

CIs are Coin Items. You purchase Coins with Hearts then open them. Inside are Coin Items, there are new Coin Items every two months.

What are EIs?

EIs are Event Items. Event Items come around whenever there is an Event. Example: Halloween, Christmas, Easter, etc.

What are Spells?

Every month there is a new Spell. Spells change the colour of DIs and CIs if the item does not already come in that colour. You can purchase Spells with Hearts or with Gold by finding a seller in the Exchange.

What are SIs?

SIs are Sticker Items. You can purchase them with Stickers. You can earn Stickers by completing Achievements.

What are Achievements?

Achievements are what you unlock when you do certain things on Ernya. Example: Reaching a certain number of posts, donating to Ernya, etc.

Where do I go to unlock Achievments/Look at the Achievements?

In every shop in your Shopping Cart there is a link to the Achievements. It's a little image that has a green background, across it it says "PST...". You can also see your Stickers by clicking on Sticker Hall. The link is under your Avatar.

Where do I go to sell my Art?

You go to the forum called Art Forum located under Business Corner. There you can set up your art shop.

Where do I go to open an Art Request thread?

You go to the sub-forum called Art Requests in the Art Forum.

Where do I go to open an Art Auction?

You go to the sub-forum called Art Auctions in the Art Forum.

Where do I go to get my Art priced?

You go to the Art Gallery Forum located under Entertainment.

Where do I go to sell my Graphics?

You go to the Miscellaneous Shops forum under Business Corner.

How do I Bookmark a thread?

You click on the star that appears when you enter a thread.

How do I view/manage my Bookmarks?

You click on Settings which is located under your Avatar.

How do I edit my Profile?

You click on Settings which is located under your Avatar. You can set your birthdate, add your location, etc.

How do I edit my About Me?

It is located under Profile in your Settings.

How do I change my Name?

You click on Settings located under your Avatar, go to Profile then click on Name Change.

How do I edit my Signature?

You click on Settings, go to Board Preferences and go to Posting Settings.

Where is the Profile Guide located?

The Profile Guide is located here.

How do I Add another user?

You go to Settings located under your Avatar then go to Buddy List. There you can manage your Buddy List. You can add and remove users.

What is the Fashion Contest?

The Fashion Contest is a monthly contest. In it you dress up your Avatar with a current Donation Item, then submit it for the chance to win prizes.

What is the Item Contest?

The Item Contest is a monthly contest. In it you can submit an idea for an item that fits the current theme. If you win then your item is made in to an item that can be purchased in the shops.

Where do I go to place items in Storage?

You go to your Inventory. Next to your list of Equipped Items there is the Storage Box. You click on the Items that you wish to store and drag them over to the box. If you wish to remove them then you click on them once and they will return to your Inventory. You can also store Gold and Hearts.

What is an Avatar Closet?

It is where you go to view your saved Avatar Outfits.

How do I save an Outfit?

Under Save Avatar there is the Save Avatar Outfit option.

What is The Laboratory?

The Laboratory is where you can go to create a thread to test out your post styles.

Where do I report glitches/problems?

You go to the Bug Forum.

How can I make a suggestion to Ernya to improve things?

You go to the Feedback Forum.

I need help, where do I go?

You go to the Support Forum.
