It suddenly struck me that I couldn't feel or hear my heartbeat. I shuddered at the thought and my mind began to race, I suddenly went from feeling amazing to panic. Was I dead, could I be as though a zombie, or was this all a bad dream? I strained my senses and listened for another specific soul, if I can feel it on this plane of existence I'll know I'm not in hell. Finally the sweet sound of something moving came to me and I looked up only to come face to face with the creature that had bitten me. I tried to shout at it in anger, but no sound came from my throat. I was shocked to find my voice had become no more than an angry hiss, but the creature seemed to have gotten my message as it paused in it's forward motion. When I knew it wouldn't attack, I brushed off the dirt and tried to remember where I was.
It dawned on me that I didn't know who I was or how I'd gotten there. All I knew what I needed to find a way to get back. I looked around for some clue as to who or where I was. Nothing seemed to help and my eyes started to tear up. Finally, it dawned on me that I should suck it up like a manly man and grow some balls. I rose to me feet and patted myself off with a strong look of determination. Then I walked toward them and whooped their behind like nobody's business. I was a very satisfied with myself. I say it was a job very well done. Now I had to decide where to go from here. I packed a few bags and got out a few maps knowing wherever I was about to go I had to be prepared for anything. After studying maps for a few hours, I finally decided to head for Scotland. My Scottish heritage was very strong so I felt this was the only obvious answer and my family over there would be able to shelter me. I bought a train ticket online and headed out. I was so excited to travel by train, I had never had traveled by train before. I got to the station early so that I could look around. The station was crowed and had lots of small shops inside. I purchased a map at one of the small shops located inside the station. Then I sat and watched the people for a while. It wasn't long before the train whistled and chugged down the track, all I could do now was wave my old life goodbye.
Once on the train, I started to look around for any suspicious looking characters. I traversed through the cars, but so far nobody really stuck out as out of character. You could never be too cautious, though, so I chose a seat in the back. That's when the doors in the back flung open and a very strange looking man entered the car. His stench was overwhelming, like moldy newspapers and black banana peels. A large gun was holstered at his hip and a stern look was painted across his face. I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach after looking at that guy, like digesting solid rocks. He look down at me in my seat with a vile grin and I couldn't help but get chills down my spine. I tried to look calm and brave, but then I saw a forked tongue dart out of his mouth. I jumped back, almost out of my skin, and broke out into a cold sweat. He leaned over so that his face was only inches from mine. I could smell the foul odor that was on his breath and almost gagged. He opened his mouth as if to speak, but no sound came out. "Strange, " I thought to myself and began to stand up, finding it very odd. He didn't try to stop me from getting up, although his snake tongue did quickly graze my cheek as I pushed past him. I shuddered from the feel and my eyes widening, examining him. His eyes were yellow. His mouth was curled in a snarl and I could see the air steaming from his snout. His teeth were brown and slightly pointed. It was the very creature that bit me, only in human form, if it could be considered such even now! My mind went completely blank and now I was running on pure instinct. I smashed my heel onto his toe and ran. I didn't get too far, however, he sped forward at lightning speed. He grabbed me by the neck and wrenched me backwards, flinging me onto the floor.
I screamed and kicked, and even bit him, but he wouldn't let me go. I gasped for breath, and flailed my limbs trying to call for help.
