Hey guys!
I'm Belinda Dreadweep, I am 28 and a reporter in our wonderful land of Ernya. I was born in Ernya's north Hopeforest and have always been surrounded with all of Ernya's legends since I was little.
I became more and more passionate about our land when I grew up, and I decided I wanted to make it my job.
I will try and keep you guys updated on the Halloween celebration we are having in the town and tell you a bit more about some of Ernya's Halloween legends.
I hope you guys are as excited as I am! I love Halloween, so this makes me feel all fuzzy inside.
Oh, maybe you have already met Juniper? He's really a nice kid, and help a lot in the town. He's the one who made all the decorations and ornaments. He did it all by himself, and it took him few months. Actually, I remember he started back in August.
You might as well want to visit his little shop. He's a sucker for candies, haha, and he told me he was exchanging a few of his items. You should take a look, I'm sure you will find something of your liking.
Ernya's citizens are really nice, and every year for Halloween they give out free candies. You just need to go and talk to them, and they will for sure hand you some.
So are you excited yet? Do you want to hear a bit about some of our legends? Maybe I have some under my sleeve you've never heard of yet!
Ok haha let me begin.
Ernya was just a forest a few hundred years ago, but people were starting to run out of resources and wanted to civilize more, so they decided to cut a few trees, and make a town in the middle of the forest. Now it is easier for travelers to access our land and I am really glad we are welcoming more citizens every year. This is such a sweet place to live in.
I liked living in the forest a lot myself when I was young, but it was more handy for me to come into town. My parents are still living in Hopeforest, I go and visit them every week. It's only 20 miles from here. Anyway haha I'm getting carried away, forgive me.
On the other side of Rainforest is the cold lands. We are not sure yet why this whole part of the land is frozen. For some reason, none of the legends say anything about it. Anyway, at the far east, you can find the Ice Castle. Narween Morganthe, also named the frozen crown, is governing the cold lands. No human can survive on the cold lands but fools and zombies. They are light skinned, because their skin lost color due to the temperature. They never come on our lands, so don't be afraid. As long as you stay in town, you should be alright.
The legend says that Narween is more than 400 years old. We still don't know her race and nobody has ever seen her face, because she is always wearing her mask. She wanted to take power over Ernya 316 years ago. It was a 31st of October, and she thought the only way to combat the humans and win Ernya over was to transform them into one of her races. She poisoned candies, sent her army in town, and ordered it to give free candies to every single person in town. A lot of Ernyans got poisoned and were transformed into fools and zombies. The other survivors fought them with the help of Sylfee, and saved the land of Ernya. But maybe you know Sylfee better under the name of Sanchez. This is a nickname the citizens gave him few decades ago.
Anyway, the zombies and fools went back to the cold lands, and to this date have never come back again.
Speaking of which, the elders have a theory about these two races. Some people say, at night, if you hang out in Windforest north, you might find some undead and vampires. The elders think undead and zombies are the same race, but their skin just lost color when they moved to the cold lands. And they believe the same theory applies for vampires and fools. Kinda scary isn't it? Haha each time I tell the story, I have goosebumps myself.
As the wonderful reporter that I am, I thought it would be a good idea to verify the elders' theory and go check Windforest to see if I could find some vampires or undead.
So I headed there two nights ago and met two nice and sweet women, if I can call them women, haha.
One of them is a vampire and is named Moth Cornward, and the other one is an undead and is named Heather Goblintree.
I talked to them for more than three hours and they told me that they were humans before. But during the war with frozen crown, they got poisoned and became the creatures they are now.
They said some legend is talking about a healing candy, and they still have hope to find it and become humans again. It's been more than 300 years though, and they never found any, but you know, they are still hopeful!
They told me they would trade few of their items in exchange for candies for Halloween. They want to stock up on candies and find out if they can catch one of those rare healing candies.
I told them to come in town and install their shop next to Juniper's! I am pretty excited to see what they have in stock hehe.
I had such a good time meeting them, and I am sure you will enjoy their company too. They might be a bit scary at first, but you will get used to it!
