I'm on a two-year contract with my internet provider but I've used it for years so I know it's good.
When my friends moved all of them had trouble getting internet connections and were out of it for several weeks as well.
But $60 installation fee isn't that bad, one of my friends had to pay €250 but she moved in a newly build house. And ended up not being able to use her connection for nearly 3 months.
