The trend in Ernyan avatar making tends to prefer cluttered avatars; although cluttered avatars are great in their own way, uncluttered avatars can also be strong, winning avatars!
This contest is intended for those who can appreciate simple, themed avatars, and to prove that clutter isn't required to make an amazing avatar.

1. You can have 1 entry per theme unless you have a referral bonus. You can use your inventory, or the Dream Avatar system, or the Shops preview.
2. Please save and upload your entry in a .png format, and keep the image uploaded on your host until winners are announced. Post your entry in the entry thread.
3. Entries are due by 11:59PM EST on the deadline: the current deadline is May 31.
4. Please respect everyone in the thread!
The contest is run by Reverie. PM Reverie for any administrative concerns.
Guest judges are invited to judge some rounds. Judging will take as long as necessary, but will usually be done within 1 week.
Trades will be canceled after a month if unclaimed, and the prize will return to the prize pool.

It is springtime, and it's May! To celebrate, our 13th theme is Flowers! The theme will run for the entire month. To qualify, you must use items with flower designs, or use a pose with a flower component in it: you can also use any item that has the word "Flower" in the name.
The entry does not have to be spring-centric, or overflowing with flowers.
If you are not sure if an item or pose is usable, feel free to ask me to verify.
If you are not sure if your entry will qualify, you can post it and rest assured that I will inform you ahead of time if it is not valid.

There is also a side contest inspired by the contest's flower symbol, ✿.
You must enter a separate entry for this contest: label it as the Mini-Contest entry in the entry posting thread.
To qualify:
- You must use the Cherry Blossom item
- You must use at least one of the following colors in your color scheme: Pink, Gum, and Cherry
Out of all the side contest entries only one will be chosen as the winner, based on how effectively they used the Cherry Blossom item with the required color(s).
To clarify, this means everyone can enter twice this month - one for the main theme, and one for the side contest.

Your entry will be judged on:
- Lack of clutter
- Theme
- Creativity and originality
- Color coordination and balance
- Item coordination and balance
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placers are usually well-rounded avatars decided with input from all judges, while the Special Prize awardee is exclusively a guest judge choice, or will feature an avatar that might not be well-rounded, but has a special look. Honorable Mentions are awarded to entries that came very close to placing.
Each winning avatar will be displayed in our archive of past themes, along with any judging commentary. Check the archive of past themes to get an idea of what the judges are looking for!

To expand the participation in the contest, we're introducing a new Referral Bonus.
By default, each participant can only enter one entry for each theme.
For every 2 users you refer to the contest, you can gain an additional entry for the current theme!
The referred users must submit a valid entry for that theme. They must also note who they are referred by when they post their entry.
You cannot "reuse" referrals in future themes: you must refer new users if you'd like to gain future bonuses.
If you referred 1 user for one theme, and 1 other user for the next theme, you can get the additional entry after you've gotten the second referral.
Alternatively, you can post the contest banner in your signature for the duration of the theme to gain 2 additional entries for the first theme that you have the button in your signature, and 1 additional entry for any themes after that. You can also gain referral bonuses if a user finds the contest specifically through your signature, or if they ask you about the link, and they note this when they enter.

"i have never been one for clutter and seeing how popular it is on ernya has always made avatar contests more difficult for me (not to mention how much more gold it costs). this contest is for showing that it's possible to make a great-looking, well-balanced avatar without swaddling yourself head-to-toe in a hundred items."
