View topic - 5 things..... you could save from a fire, if you had time.
I've always had thoughts ever since I was alittle kid that what if the house caught on fire and I only had time to grab a couple or even 1 thing before I got out? And then it would always get me to thinking what I would take and why, and why wouldnt I take something else?
And then in a town we were living in not too long ago, there was a massive fire and we had to evacuate, but I ran back to the apartment and filled our little punch buggy car full of everything I could grab. Needless to say though, afterwards, our apartment was still fine. But it just got me to wondering even more.
So then finally now I know what I would take if I had time to grab a few things, besides my husband I mean, materialistic things:
So why not pictures albums? Well cause I have most of my pictures on my "camera" or in my "laptop", so if I save those then Im covered.
Why not clothes? Well I have renters insurance to help cover that, and plus I can always buy more.

(because its basically my childhood in a box cause I always had my stuffed animals and babies when I played.)
2. My box of books.
(if I had time to hurry and throw them in a box, I'd do it. Cause my main books are my Dark-Hunter series that Im obsessed with, along with all my manga that I've gotten.)
3. My laptop.
(that ones pretty obvious...can anyone live without a computer now days? LOL)
4. My box of plushies.
(I have plushies from all my favorite animes and then some that are just special to me. I guess you could put this is the box of my stuffed animals and babies, but that box is already too full.)
5. And last, probably my purse, whichever one that may be at the time.
(not because its a girly thing, but because I normally have my wallet in there, my camera, and my cell phone. I'd need those things.)

I need my money stuffs to survive or to help out with paying for stuff.
I will have something to do and be able to communicate with my laptop.

I'd save my animals. That equals five things. Two cats, a rat and two tarantulas. However if my boyfriend was incapacitated, I would probably leave one of the animals behind to save him. Oh god I don't want to pick which one, but it wouldn't be either of the cats.

i haven't ever thought about that since i was a kid.
i had to do something like that about three years ago tho...our apartment flooded with sewage very quickly after a horrible storm, and we had to grab everything we could and get it out of there before it got soaked and ruined, cuz it wasn't just water. it was sewage. tons of stuff was ruined.
but, if i had to grab 5 things, not including loved ones which is also my cats, because i'm grabbing them first, and if i have time, i'm running back to grab:
-my tarot cards.
they have never failed me, and i don't think i could get this kind of connection with any other deck. even if i had to buy the same deck again it wouldn't be the same.
-my grimoires (also known as books of shadows).
the things in there are irreplaceable.
-my grim reaper.
he's my buddy. i feel very safe having him guard my room.
-my dream catcher.
i made it myself out of dried plants. i'm very proud of it.
-my social security card and birth certificate.
they're way too hard to replace. my dream catcher has to be sacrificed for them.
-my yu-gi-oh zombie deck.
it's practically unbeatable. when i got a deck box for it, i kept tally marks for wins and losses so that i could prove how great it is.
so far it's 108 wins to 24 losses.
most people i know would be mad if they found out there was a fire and i saved some things but not my art, but i honestly don't really care if my art is ruined in a fire because i'm not as proud of it as everyone else is. there's only one painting that i actually like, and that's one that i made for justin. i might end up saving that painting in lieu of my dream catcher, because it would too difficult to reach my dream catcher since it's near the ceiling so my cat doesn't attack it.

1. Computer. Yes, the entire massive thing, both screens, mouse, keyboard, both headsets. Can't leave any of that behind, and if I really needed money, I can easily get 3k off of the entire thing (even though I could just sell my car and buy a clunker)
2. Purse. Holds all my money, phone, an extra day's worth of clothes (underwear, shirt, shorts), most of my makeup, brushes, and all sorts of little snacks.
3. All of the stuffed animals that I have on my bed. They're all important gifts from memorable places and it would kill me to leave any of that behind.
4. The picture of my dad that I have on my night stand. I don't know how long he's going to be in my life for, and if I ever ended up with nothing left to remind me of him, I would kill myself. He has saved my life so many times.
